Tracy Young

Grammy-Award Winning Music Producer, DJ, and Composer

Believe it or not, many moons ago, I was a DJ in goth clubs in San Antonio, TX. That stint ended when I thought it would be fun to transition from something like Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division to Paul Revere by the Beastie Boys. The manager of the event didn’t happen to share my musical taste or sense of humor. The DJ part is about as far as the commonality between Tracy and I go, though.

Tracy began DJing in 1989 while in college, transitioned into have a successful radio career, and then moving to Miami for a job with Interscope Records. While in Miami, she also became the resident DJ at the then ultra-famous nightclub Liquid and served as the deejay for many events hosted by celebrities including Sean Puffy Combs, Russell Simmons, Cher, Ricky Martin, and even Madonna. After DJing some pretty big events, including Brittany’s 21st birthday party, she launched her own record label, Ferosh Records.

Tracy made music history in 2020 when she became the first woman ever to a) be nominated for and b) win the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical! If you want to check out her winning song, it’s Madonna’s "I Rise" (Tracy Young Pride Intro Radio Remix). Young has racked up over 60 #1 Billboard Club Chart Hits, collaborated on remixes with over 100 artists, and worked on 14 remixes exclusively for Madonna.
