Overcoming Overwhelm

Finding Peace Amidst Family Emergencies
Recently, I found myself in San Antonio due to a family emergency. The situation has been incredibly stressful, filled with uncertainty and emotional turmoil. At the moment, I am trying to be supportive and helpful while also trying to care for myself as a human, taking a few minutes to find peace to stay grounded and focused.
One practice that has been incredibly helpful during this time is a meditation technique called SEE: Separate, Embrace, Evaluate. I'd like to share this with you, hoping it might bring you some comfort and clarity as it has for me.

When we feel overwhelmed, it's easy to get stuck in a cycle of stress and anxiety.
The SEE technique provides a simple yet powerful way to regain control and perspective.
π Separate: Detach from the anxiety you're feeling. Acknowledge it as an observer, rather than letting it consume you.
π Embrace: Accept your feelings without judgment. Understand that it's normal to feel overwhelmed in challenging situations.
π Evaluate: Assess your tasks and responsibilities. Focus on what's urgent and important, schedule non-urgent tasks for later, and delegate or eliminate tasks that aren't important.
This method has been a comforting practice for me. By separating from my anxiety, I can see it for what it is. Embracing my stress allows me to accept and understand my emotions, rather than fight against them. Evaluating my priorities helps me stay organized and take actionable steps, even in the midst of a crisis.
